Heavenly Bodies

I drift,

Every now and then

To your cloud

You sense my high

But not the Low

Pressure

System

That compels it

I aspire to your heights

But am sick to my stomach

A vertigo beyond the reach of words to describe it

The cost of a fall from here…

Even condensed,

Our raindrop would splatter

Not again.

I set my sights instead upon the idea of you

Dark Matter indeed

Neck craning in earnest,

My vision swims

But I think I spy a glimmer

Of what it is I hunger for

-Just a flash-

Of sunlight on wings

Before it’s gone

If I could only hold you,

I know

Your body would fold into mine

And we could be still a while

Until the next storm rolled in
